Steel Buildings, Small - FAQ
- Can I build it myself? How long does it take to complete?
Generally, it's best to have at least three people assemble this building using a detailed assembly manual.
The project should take two weekends, depending upon accessories and building size.
- What tools are required?
For assembly, you will need:
- safety glasses
- work gloves
- a small square
- chalk line
- two (2) 8' step ladders
- 3/4" open end wrench
- 3/4" long or deep socket with ratchet
- a level
- 3/4 spud wrench (optional)
- vise grip pliers
- 2 "C" clamps or vise grip "C" clamps
- screw gun and drill with a 1/8" inch and a 1/4" drill bit
- concrete drill with a 1/4" concrete drill bit
- hacksaw with a steel blade for cutting the trim angle where necessary
- sheet metal snips both left and right or power shears
- blind (pop) rivet gun
- broom or brush
- caulking gun
- standard claw hammer
- box of 1/4" x 1 1/4" "nail in" anchors
- two (2) 2' x 4' x 16' boards and wooden stakes/stobs for bracing
- 30' metal tape measure
Lifting machinery may be required for some buildings
You may be able to rent any tools which you do not own.
- Can I change the roof slope or the wall height?
No, all of our small building packages are standardized for a 4:12 per foot roof slope, and the standard heights are 8' or 10' feet.
- How are the buildings delivered?
We can ship three ways:
a.) by motor freight,
b.) factory pick-up, or
c.) through contract haulers.
- How long does it take once the order is placed to manufacture the building?
15-20 Working days.
- What colors are available?
There are currently 15 available colors: Hawaiian Blue, Crimson Red, Fern Green, Burnished Slate, Koko Brown, Aztec Gold, Charcoal Gray, Ash Gray, Saddle Tan, Desert Sand, Polar White, Rustic Red, Light Stone, Colony Green, Gallery Blue.

- How much does the building weigh?
Approximately 2500-4500 lbs., depending upon size of building.
